Offshore - Onshore Pipelines

Offshore pipeline engineering is the most important market areas for SPS. Our company has established a comprehensive knowledge within this area covering numerous subsea pipeline projects in different regions of the world. On behalf of Majors in oil & gas business, SPS has conducted feasibility, FEED, detail and installation engineering of pipelines from the deep waters. Extremely uneven seabed at the field and in the near shore area was the greatest challenge for many projects. Free span mitigation and expansion control require large amounts of seabed pre/post installation works, often by a combination of rock dumping, pre-lay dredging and post-lay trenching.

The pipelines must be analysed in detail for all conditions and loads that might occur during the lifetime, which is quite complicated for pipelines being exposed to various degree of internal corrosion. Advanced 3D FEM programs are used to analyse pipeline behaviour and document sufficient fatigue life and strength capacity. A full range of services is offered in the pipeline engineering field throughout a project's life cycle from the earliest conceptual studies to decommissioning and abandonment. Project scopes range from upstream in-field gathering and export systems to high pressure transmission trunklines through to low pressure downstream systems.
